Supporting kids with brain cancer

Before Bougie was even an idea, the Robert Connor Dawes (RCD) Foundation was my first passion project.
In 2013, I co-founded the RCD Foundation alongside Connor’s parents, Liz and Scott. What began as a response to something deeply personal has grown into Australia's leading organisation for pediatric brain cancer. It's doing genuinely world-leading work — and I’m incredibly proud of what it has become.
What the RCD Foundation does
The Robert Connor Dawes Foundation has a simple mission: to change the odds for kids with brain cancer. Sadly, those odds remain frightening. Founded in memory of Connor Dawes, who died in 2013 from an ependymoma, the Foundation has since raised more than $20 million to fund Research, Care and Development initiatives that tackle the disease from every angle.
On the Research front, it has backed world-leading, innovative projects that address critical gaps in paediatric brain cancer science, from precision diagnostics to next-generation immunotherapies. But the Foundation’s remit is bigger-hearted than science alone.
Its Care programs support children and families through the toughest moments, including music therapy that helps bring comfort, joy and emotional strength when it’s needed most.
And through Development work, the Foundation is building a strong, connected community of researchers, clinicians and advocates — ensuring paediatric brain cancer receives the focus, funding and talent it so urgently deserves.
There is so much more to this story.
Beautiful families. Amazing researchers. Inspiring kids.

Supporting RCD
Bougie and the RCD Foundation are different projects —but they come from the same place.
Bougie supports the RCD Foundation by increasing awareness, using our platform and packaging to start conversations that matter. And by donating a percentage of Bougie’s profits directly to the foundation’s work.
That’s why you’ll see the RCD Foundation on our packaging. It’s not a campaign. It’s not a limited-time thing.
It’s part of who we are.
Thank you for supporting RCD,
